Lake Hills Church is committed to serving those in need across Austin. Every single day, teams of LHC members work with Mobile Loaves and Fishes to deliver food and clothing, promote dignity, and share hope with the homeless and under resourced in our community.

In addition, we partner with the Community First! Village, a 27-acre master planned community, that provides affordable, permanent housing and a supportive community for the disabled, chronically homeless in Central Texas. A development of Mobile Loaves & Fishes, this transformative residential program exists to love and serve our neighbors who have been living on the streets, while also empowering the surrounding community into a lifestyle of service with the homeless.

Serve

Mobile Loaves & Fishes is a GREAT way for you to serve our city. We have three different teams available to choose from – not that you have to choose – you can do all three! Whether serving alone or with a group, we’ll get you set up, trained and on your way to being the church. Serving commitments range from monthly to weekly – it’s up to you!

  • Make-Ready Team

    Make-Ready Teams have serving opportunities EVERY day of the year in the Warehouse building. Teams meet each afternoon in our commercial kitchen to prepare and load sack-lunch style meals and donated clothes onto the delivery trucks, making sure they are ready for delivery!

  • Truck Team

    Truck Teams deliver more than a sandwich! Mobile Loaves & Fishes’ food truck volunteers hit the streets 7 days a week, 365 days a year to provide food, clothing, hygiene products and other life-sustaining items to our homeless and under-resourced neighbors all across Austin!

  • Clothes-Sorting Team

    Clothes sorting or clothes folding shifts are on Saturday and Sunday mornings, with occasional shifts added throughout the week, based on the need. These volunteer teams organize donated clothing items that make their way onto the delivery trucks for those in need all over our city. If Wednesday mornings don't work for you, let us know...other serving times are available!
